High Pyrenees
With home base in Castejon de Sos, the heart of the Pyrenees, tour will focus on local & XC flying.
The Pyrenees are a spectacular place to fly! Nestled between Spain and France, this mountain range extends for hunderds of kilometers from the Atlantic sea to the Mediterranean. Our base will be in Castejon de Sos, but depending on the weather forecast we will be traveling to other locations withinaa 2 hour drive.
Trip is limited to 5 pilots maximum per week.
Pilot requirements
- All rated pilots with strong launch & landing skills can fly this area (P2-P5).
- The level of expertise will determine launch time and flight plan.
- Beginner pilots will have early flights, and weather permitting, afternoon soaring sessions.
- Advanced pilots will have the opportunity to fly the high massif tour which includes the tallest peaks in the region: Aneto, Maladeta and Posets.
What's included
- Selection of best launch for the day.
- Route selection depending on pilot level.
- Weather briefing.
- Optional: Task download for FlySkyHy or XCTrack
- Guiding service on the ground and in the air.
What's not included
- Transportation from Bacelona or Zaragoza airports to Castejon.
- Accommodations for the full week.
- Flights To and From Barcelona.
- Food, drinks.
- Insurance.
Accommodations
Accommodations are responsibility of clients. These can be done one to two days prior to the trip given that the dates are not during high season, and depending on the weather, we'll have to reserve rooms closer to other launches.
